Katalin Kiss graduated from the Franz Liszt Academy in 2012, her teachers where Péter Pongrácz and József Kiss. The same year she received her masters degree in the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst, Mannheim under the tutelage of the Swiss professor, Emmanuel Abbühl.
She took master courses with such reknowned musicians as Lajos Lencsés, Jacques Tys, François Leleux and Kai Rapsch. She participated multiple times in the Pommersfelden Collegium Musicum International Festival where she played under Zoltán Kocsis at the age of 17. In 2008 she participated in the Santanderben az Encuentro de Música y Academia where she worked with such internationally famous artists as Vladimir Ashkenazy, Alessandro Carbonare and Radovan Vlatković.
Under her studies she won prizes in numerous national oboe competitions. After receiving her diploma she worked for two years as the first oboist of the Hungarian National Opera House and presently she is the first oboist of the MÁV Symphony Orchestra and the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. Since 2017 she is a member of the Budapest Wind Quintet.
